Delegation led by Vice President paid a visit to German and Romanian Universities
Prof Yuan Xiong, vice president of JUFE, member of the Party Committee of JUFE, led a delegation and successfully completed the visiting to the germany and romania universities on invitation of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, the Hochschule Dsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, the Alexandru Loan Cuza University of Iaşi and the Transilvania University of Brasov from June 2 to 9, 2019. Prof. Yin Zhonghai, Dean of the School of Humanity , Associate Professor Liu Xiaohui from the School of Statistics, and Associate Professor Wan Minli from the School of Foreign Languages accompanied the visiting.
On the morning of June 3, the delegation arrived at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in Germany. The vice president Prof. Dr. Ren Thiele, the international student affairs coordinator Juliane Reinhardt-Max and her assistant Karla Hanning together had a meeting with JUFE delegation. Prof. Rennie Tiller, Vice President of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, greatly expressed a warm welcome to the delegation and gave a thorough introduction to the education history and current circumstances of undergraduate and postgraduate education of the University. What’s more, he also expressed the intention to further enhance the cooperation including the scholar exchange. JUFE Vice President Yuan Xiong retraced the history of the cooperation between Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and JUFE. And he introduced the basic condition of the JUFE’s academic research. Moreover, he also hoped that the cooperation between the two universities would be further enhanced when the JUFE commemorates her 100th anniversary. Later, Vice President Yuan Xiong and Vice President Rennie Tiller signed a new round of cooperation agreement.
In addition, JUFE delegation also conducted talks and meetings with the International Office and the faculty of the Commerce and law. the faculty of Commerce and the law proposed that their three undergraduate core courses (ie, International Finance, Business Administration, Tourism Management) was matched with three English-taught courses undergraduate or graduate courses in JUFE (eg, Finance, International Business, Tourist Management). and they hoped two sides would work on a deeper cooperation. Besides, our two universities negotiated over the 3+1 program in the major of statistics and Business Administration; professional or foreign language teacher recruiting from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Vice President Yuan Xiong also put forward that the newly established Oversea Education School in JUFE was a great cooperate platform for exchange.
On the afternoon of June 4, delegates visited the Hochschule Dsseldorf University of Applied Sciences to conducted visiting activities. JUFE delegation received a warm reception and both host and guest had a deeply friendly conversation with the dean of the faculty of Business studies, prof. Felicitas Albers; the deputy dean of the faculty of Business studies and the the Director of the business analysis master program prof. Philipp Freitag; the Director of exchange student program, prof.Lothar Funk and the Director of the international office, Dr.Monika Katz.
To start with, the dean of the faculty of Business studies, prof. Felicitas Albers delivered a warm welcome speech on behalf of the new leadership and he briefly introduced the basic situation of the Hochschule Dsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. She said that JUFE was the first university in china to conduct cooperation with HDU. Since 2006, this cooperation had continued for more than 13 years. In the long-term cooperation, the two universities have established a partnership of mutual trust. Yuan Xiong expressed his congratulations to the new president of HDU and also expressed his high respect for the contribution of the former emeritus president on behalf of JUFE. In the following, prof.Lothar Funk introduced the basic situation of the faculty of Business studies; and prof. Philipp Freitag introduced the basic situation of the business analysis master program.
During the discussion, the representatives of JUFE proposed to upgrade the cooperation level between the two universities to the postgraduate level. Prof. Felixitas Albers was very interested in this cooperation intention and she said that a feasibility report would be proposed to the University. Both of two side agreed that there are much blank to fill in the future deeper cooperation which included a joint Applied Statistics Research Center; the School of Business administration of JUFE would enhance the cooperation in the Business analysis graduate program. After the meeting, JUFE delegation visited JUFEer exchange student Jiang Zhong.
On the morning of June 6, the JUFE delegation went to the Alexandru Loan Cuza University of Iaşi(UAIC) in Romania. First of all, JUFE delegation had a dialogue with the faculty of economics and business administration. Deputy dean and direct of international affairs, prof. Bogdan-Gabriel Zugravu; Deputy dean of research, prof. Carmen Pintilescu; direct of Finance and Risk Management joined the meeting. Two universities reached a cooperation on the EU Erasmus Scholarship Program, international academic conference cooperation, and summer school. the faculty of economics and business administration hoped to carry out an in-depth cooperation with the School of Statistics, the School of Finance, the School of International Trade, and the School of Business of JUFE.Vice President Yuan Xiong said that he would actively laid the foundation work in the above Schools.
In the following, Yuan xiong led the delegate to visit the vice president of the Alexandru Loan Cuza University of Iaşi, prof. Michaela Onofrei. She introduced the history and faculties of UAIC. She emphasized that the faculty of Economics and Business Management is the largest faculty of the University of Iasi, and the University of Iasi is the best university in Romania. There left much room to cooperate with the School of finance and the School of Finance of JUFE. Yuan xiong also introduced the education status of JUFE, and put forward the intentions of promoting the Erasmus Scholarship Program, the cooperation with the School of Statistics, the School of Humanities, and the school of Foreign Languages. After the talks, the two universities renewed the cooperation agreement. During the visit, vice president Yuan xiong visited the exchange student of the School of Statistics, Phd candidate Dai Zian and asked about his life in Romania. After the above visits, the delegates visited the library of the University of Iasi. Yuan Xiong stated that the historical heritage was highlighted in the library and that was a successful approach to learn.
On the morning of June 7, the delegation went to the Transilvania University of Brasov. Coincidentally this day was one of the chinese traditional Festivals, the Dragon Boat Festival. So the delegation was warmly welcomed by the university. President Ioan Vasile Abrudan, Vice-Chancellor Simona Lache, and Associate Dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration Ioana Bianca Chitu, Professor of the Institute of Research and Development, Monica Raileanu Szeles, attended the meeting. After introducing the members attending the meeting, the Associate Professor Wan Minli of first introduced the basic situation of the JUFE, especially the international education situation through the keynote. In the following, Vice President Simone Lark introduced the basic situation of the Transilvania University of Brasov. She especially introduced the situation of international programs including the Erasmus Scholarship Program. Transilvania had 275 students to study abroad each year. In the same time, Professor of the Institute of Research and Development, Monica Raileanu Szeles put forward that cooperation in scientific research field would be strengthened.
On this basis, Vice-President Yuan Xiong further figured out that the Transilvania’s approach in internationalized faculty was worth learning and he further proposed the exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Statistics and business administration major and the the exchange of scholar to conduct research on the Belt and Road Initiative. President Ioan Vasile Abrudan made a exhaustive description on the Sino-Roman cooperation projects including the Confucius Institute and agreed with the idea of strengthening the cooperation. He offered a suggestion that Transilvania University of Brasov would sent staffs to JUFE to discuss more meticulous, operable and sustainable cooperation and exchange programs after half year. Vice-President Yuan Xiong said that he is always welcome the Mr. President to lead a delegation to visit JUFE when convenient.After reaching a cooperation intention, President Ioan Vasile Abrudan suggested the delegate to visit the research center, library and student accommodation to have a look. JUFE delegates took that advice with pleasure and conducted a detailed investigation. Finally the delegate reached a conclusion that the Transilvania University of Brasov was a high-level research university to cooperate.
Among the visiting to Germany and Romania, JUFE laid the foundations for further conducting international education and fostered JUFE’s international education including exchange students, visiting scholars, international academic research, studying in china and improving the education quality.
Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences,was founded in 1971, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences was a public higher education institution in Germany and has been certified by the Ministry of Education of China. It also ranked in the top 10 in German applied technology universities ranking. Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences attached great importance to scientific research and continues to develop and provide more applied and market-oriented undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It was one of comprehensive universities provided with the most majors and core courses in Germany. It was a research-oriented university with the large comprehensive multidisciplinary covered literature, economics, management, science, engineering, medicine and education. Besides, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences also actively promoted the exchange students with mainland China. Jufe signed a school-level cooperation agreement in 2014 with Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and in this time, we would renew that agreement and determine the future cooperation. In the past three years, twelve JUFE exchange students had gone to the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences to study. At present, some JUFEer had completed their exchanges and returned to JUFE, and they had high satisfaction with their teaching quality.
Hochschule Dsseldorf- University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1971, Hochschule Dsseldorf University of Applied Sciences was a public university which founded on 1 August 1971by combining several renowned regional educational institutions and has been certified by the Ministry of Education of China. The emphasis is put on the business field and offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary range of subjects. It had 7 faculties which including architecture, design, electrical engineering and information technology, mechanical and process engineering, media, social science and cultural studies and business studies. Approximately 8.000 students are taught in 36 degree programmes in seven faculties. The educational and research emphasis at HSD has a strong practical and interdisciplinary approach. The university guarantees that course contents are connected to practical work necessities since they are based on extensive professional experiences. JUFE signed a school-level cooperation agreement with the Hochschule Dsseldorf University of Applied Sciences in 2015, and there are 9 students participating in the exchange activities in the past three years and and they had high satisfaction with their teaching quality.
Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi was found in 1861, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi was a modern university of romania, and was certified by the ministry of education of china. The University had an enrollment of more than 38,000 Students. It had eight colleges such as the School of Mathematics and Mechanics, the School of Statistics, the School of Languages, and the School of History and Philosophy. The school was a higher education institution with international standards. It had established long-term educational cooperation, teacher or student exchange with renowned universities in the britian, Germany and China. And it was listed among the top university in the International rating of Romanian universities. Romania was one of countries along the “Belt and Road” and the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi was a good partner to respond to that initiative. jufe and Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi signed a University-level cooperation agreement in 2014 and this time would renew that agreement and determine the future cooperation.
4.Transilvania University of Brasov, was founded in 1940, Transilvania University of Brasov was a research university and has been certified by the Ministry of Education of China. It had Undergraduate, master and phd programs in 18 colleges like School of Economics and Business Administration, the School of Statistics, and the School of Foreign Languages and Humanities. Transilvania University of Brasov had an enrollment of 25000 Students. It also attach great significance to the International cooperation with higher education institutions in mainland china. In the year of 2012, Transilvania University of Brasov established the Confucious College with the cooperation with Shenyang Architectural University. In the 2015, it started its new undergraduate program in Chinese Language and Literature. Transilvania University of Brasov looked forward to international students in mainland china from undergraduate level to the doctor level. Transilvania University of Brasov had abundant international exchange experience which was worth absorbing.
